TechTrace gives you the power to protect valuable content on your smart device through innovative technology.
To subscribe, simply click here.
From the website, simply visit Get App and click on the link to download the App from Google Play or the App Store.
From Google Play or the App Store:
Search for TechTrace on Google Play (Android) or the App Store (Apple) and select Install.
Once the App is installed, open the app and log in using the username and password that has been supplied to you.
To synchronize the device with the with the web interface you will need to click here to log in now. From here you will be able to manage your device security features.

TechTrace App

Log in with the username and password that was sent to you in the welcome email and SMS.
After logging into the web interface you will be able to see where your phone is in the location section of your dashboard.
After logging in on the web interface select the button Start Remote Wipe. A popup will appear asking you if you are sure you want to remote wipe your phone. Click yes and the action will take place.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Start Alarm”. This will trigger an Alarm notification on your device.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Start Lock Device”. This will trigger the lock screen on your device.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Start Flashlight”. This will trigger the flashlight on your device.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Message”. A popup will appear allowing you to write the message that you would like to send to your device. This message will appear as a notification on the device.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Remote Call”. A popup will appear. In the “Number to Dial” field enter the phone number that you want your device to remotely call. Do not fill in the cell number of the device.
After logging in on the web interface select the button “Start Camera Front” to remotely prompt your front camera to take photos of the device’s surroundings. If you select the button “Start Camera Rear” you will remotely prompt your rear camera to take photos. On the web interface go to the gallery where you will find you photos that have been taken.
To change your password on the TechTrace App, select Profile from the menu options.
Type your selected password into the password field and click Update.

Web Interface

The TechTrace web interface is an online web portal that enables you to log in to your TechTrace profile where you can manage and control the security of your devices.
To log into the web interface, visit www.techtrace.co.za, click on the Login button, and fill in your details. Click here to log in now. To log out click on the log out button on the top right-hand corner.
After logging into the web interface, you will land on your Dashboard. Your Dashboard will give you a view of the following:
Current device:
This shows the device that is currently in use.
To change your device, click on the dropdown and select the device that you would like to manage.
Quick Actions:
This is where you will be able to activate the security features.
Location:
You can view your last location on the map.
Tracking:
A breakdown of data that is logged for the location of the device.

General Questions

The App will not work without a WiFi or data connection.
The following will be wiped from the devices:
Contacts (iOS and Android)
Calendar (Android only)
Ensure that you backup and change the password of your Google drive and iCloud accounts so that the remote wipe will not affect your backed up content.
The alarm uses the notification volume and does not get louder.
5 notifications have been set to alert the user.
No refund will be issued for cancellations in the following cases:
When a special offer was part of the subscription.
The amount to be refunded is less than R50 (fifty rand).
Monthly payments are cancelled with immediate effect so no refund will be due.
